Cruises are a great way to travel the world and see a selection of the best places. Follow these tips and have a fun trip!

Find out what is covered in the fee – most are all inclusive, but this doesn’t include alcohol, shore excursions and spa services. Some cruise ships are cashless and give you a little plastic card, which is a really easy way to spend a lot without realising. As long as you know the drill before you go you should be OK.

Research the demographics and find out the age range of people on your trip. If you are middle aged a trip with a bunch of uni students will be alarming, and likewise if you are young you don’t want to find yourself on a saga cruise.

If you want to have your passport stamped with a lot of exotic destinations, make sure you ask well in advance as you don’t need a passport to get off the boat. Don’t miss out on an exciting addition to your collection!

Be prepared to work extra hard in the gym, as you will have to struggle to hold onto the machinery as the boat sways, as well as working those muscles. Two for the price of one!

Be prepared for over indulgence, as the average person gains seven to fourteen pounds on a cruise. The food is rich and the dessert trolley is vast, so treat yourself to some veg every now and again.
