How to Plan the Perfect Trip to Norfolk

There’s something about Norfolk that just has to be experienced. It’s perfect for all types of holiday, so whether you’re looking for a trip full of adventure and sight-seeing or if you’re simply in need of some relaxation, Norfolk is the perfect place to indulge. There are plenty of hotels in Norfolk to accommodate as well, but if you really want to experience the best of this county you need to start planning.

Decide where you want to stay

Norfolk has something for everyone, whether you’re looking for the peace and quiet of the countryside, the bustle of city life or the excitement of the coastline, so your first consideration will be where you want to stay. Luckily there are plenty of Norfolk hotels dotted all over the place, so wherever you’re thinking of going you’re bound to find the accommodation to suit.

Make sure to visit plenty of different places

But, just because you’ve chosen to stay in the countryside rather than the city (or vice versa) doesn’t mean that you have to restrict yourself. If you fancy a trip to the vibrant and historic city of Norwich, perhaps for some sight-seeing or well-deserved shopping, then all you have to do is hop on a train – Norfolk has great rail networks so nowhere is out of reach.

If sunbathing is more your thing then you’ll be spoilt for choice, with the county being surrounded by miles of beautiful coastline. Don’t forget the top-class cuisine that you’ll be able to find in Norfolk too, with there being a huge number of sumptuous and even Michelin-starred restaurants to choose from.

Choose the ultimate Norfolk hotels

Choosing the right hotel will pretty much guarantee you an enjoyable stay, and luckily there are plenty of options to choose from to suit all requirements. The coastlines are dominated by bed and breakfasts and cosy guesthouses, but if you’re looking for something a bit more luxurious there are plenty of full-service hotels to choose from as well. You’ll even be able to find those that come complete with spas, leisure facilities, restaurants and even golf courses, so whatever you’re looking for from a holiday there’ll be Norfolk hotels to accommodate.

How to find the best hotels in Norfolk

Of course, when you’re planning the perfect trip to Norfolk you need to know where you can find all of these stunning Norfolk hotels, and that’s when you need to start looking online. By heading online (ideally to a specialist comparison website) you’ll have access to numerous hotels and can compare them to find the one that’s right for you, and then all you have to do is look forward to your getaway!

Lapland and the wonders it offers

It isn’t just the activities in Lapland or even the fact that you can hold onto the thought of Santa Claus but it is the whole package that Lapland offers that you will fall in love with.  Lapland’s vast wilderness is like another world, in the winter the silence of the snow covered streets will enchant you and in the summer months, the open countryside and space will relax and rejuvenate you.  The frozen wilderness is what you will really fall in love with as it envelopes you completely from the moment you arrive. I always believe and feel once you have been to Lapland; you will leave a little piece of yourself behind.  The residents of Lapland live a simple life that is one filled with family time and strong cultures that bind together to provide a life which is lived to the full. The people of Lapland are at one with nature and many of their beliefs are the same as they were years ago. Nature is sacred and life is for the living.  The wonderful thing about Lapland is that it not only provides fantastic skiing but has something for those who want to try something different. You can be as energetic or as slow paced as you like and in this winter wonderland it really doesn’t matter which one you choose.  As the years have gone by I have fell more in love with this wonderful place and every time I visit I take something from home to leave for my next visit. We all go on holiday to escape, whether that be somewhere hot where you can spend all your time on the beach or somewhere cold where you can ski and do winter sports but for me Lapland is so much more and has over the years become a second home where I feel at one with myself. Lapland offers something I can’t quite put my finger on. Maybe it’s the drinks round the open fires late at night or maybe it’s the winter walks through the snow covered lanes or maybe there’s just something in Lapland’s culture that strikes a chord, whatever it may be Lapland is a wonderful place that has managed to stand unique in time and hold on to what makes it very special.

But, if you are looking for more of a traditional Amsterdam feel to it, select a more localized hotel. You can determine which is more appropriate for your specific stay. One thing to take note of is that many of the hotels within this area do not feel so much like hotels but rather of a residential area. You will feel as if you are at home, rather than away on a business trip or in a boring hotel.

If you know you need a break away and are looking at places that seem to exude happiness and relaxation then booking a stay at a Nelson lodge is a good move indeed. Located at the top of New Zealand’s South Island, the natural geography lends itself to a warm Mediterranean style climate with the benefit of lush bushland and white beaches to add to the allure.

Known as the sunniest spot in New Zealand, there are plenty of things to do in the great outdoors including tramping in one of the three National Parks in the area. Each one has a different feel and attraction from Abel Tasman which includes much to enjoy along the coast, with rocky headlands you can look out into forever from and golden beaches. Kahurangi is one of the nation’s largest and is home to several three and four day hikes. The Nelson Lakes National Park is where you can explore peaceful and beautiful lakes, edged by majestic beech forest.

Hotel Variations

There are many reasons to choose to stay in a hotel and what type of hotel you choose can depend on many varying factors.

The most common reason for staying in a hotel would be because you are on holiday and like most people, you are there to relax. You could be on a hen or stag night out or weekend away with friends and it’s more convenient to stay together in the same place. It could simply be an overnight stop while travelling. Sometimes what type of hotel you stay at is decided upon what is available to you there and then with the given circumstances.

It is common for people to choose hostels or bed and breakfasts simply because they are cheaper than hotels. It could also be because they are more likely to have a vacancy rather than at a hotel where you would have to book so far in advance. Your location plays an important part in choosing where you would stay as well. You wouldn’t choose to stay in a rundown hostel in a rough part of the city if there was a more welcoming hotel nearby unless you were in mighty dire straits.

Your choice can also be influenced by what quality you’re looking for and the standard of customer service you desire. It is true that the more you pay, the better service you are more likely to receive. It is because of this service that people choose hotels. The decision now is which hotel to choose.

If you were to be on a holiday you had been saving up for, you would be eager to try and get the best value for your money. It is possible to find luxury hotels in almost any city in the world. There are many hotel companies that have luxury hotels in Amsterdam, London, New York, Madrid, Paris and so on.

It is important that you find a hotel that you like and would enjoy spending time there. It is after all where you are going to be sleeping. You should also do research on what facilities the hotel has to offer as some have gyms, a swimming pool, tennis courts, a games room, a bar and restaurant amongst others. If you have family, remember to make sure that the hotel you are at is family friendly. Your children will not thank you if there is nothing on offer to entertain them for the duration of their holiday.

Things To Do Along the Atlantic Coast

Summer vacations along the Atlantic coast are filled with a variety of nature-related activities such as shell collecting, exploring tide pools and harvesting seafood.

Other seashore recreation such as kite flying, hiking, photography and other activities offer beach enthusiasts a chance to get outside and enjoy coastal sights.

Along oceanfront beaches shell collectors find cockles, moon snails, whelks, conchs, scallops, angel wings and other attractive treasures.

Exploring tide pools is an excellent seashore activity. This is a wonderful activity for kids of all ages, although the plain truth is that people of every age love exploring the shallows and learning about the creatures that live there.

Some explorers harvest seaweed while along the ocean. Several types of seaweed are valuable as food as well as being an excellent additive in gardens. The benefits of seaweed have been widely accepted, mostly due to its mineral content.

Catching bait for fishing is popular along the seashore. Fishermen use cast nets, small seines, traps or other equipment to catch minnows, bait fish, crabs, shrimp and other sea creatures.

Some seashores have areas where shellfish harvesting is allowed. Common shellfish of the Atlantic coast includes quahog clams, oysters and mussels.

The Atlantic coast is an excellent place to practice photography. Subjects include sunrises and sunsets, seascapes, wave actions, birds, marine mammals and people.

Atlantic shorelines are home to a wide range of birds such as gulls, terns, oyster catchers, herons, egrets, pelicans, ibises, plovers, sandpipers and other shorebirds.

Flying kites is an excellent hobby along the coast. To fly a kite successfully, enthusiasts need wind and open space, both of which are usually plentiful along the coast.

The Atlantic coast has thousands of hiking trails. Most seashores have trails which offer a range of scenery.
